Digital Radio Turns Green
It is interesting to learn that forms of new media are turning green, with one of the latest being digital radio. I recently came across the website for the internet's largest green audio download site. The digital radio station is called EcoShock and supplies listeners with information about the environment. Don't think that it is all boring though! EcoShock provides listeners with “interviews and rants on environment & economy” (EcoShock n.d). It also provides information on protests such as the latest protest against the oil spill by BP.
I think this is great as it shows people using new media mediums to incorporate the environment for those listeners who are really interested. New media is working together with the environment rather dismissing it as something that isn’t of concern.
