\n
\nLately I have been eyeing off the head\/earphone range 'Beats by Dre' which was released by the rapper\/producer Dr Dre. He collaborated with Lady Gaga and together they designed a pair of earphones that look pretty damn amazing (you can see them here:http:\/\/www.freshnessmag.com\/2009\/09\/09\/lady-gaga-x-beats-by-dr-dre-heartbeats-earbuds\/<\/a>). I have tested out a pair before and the sound quality is amazing. I think they are the right type of celebrities to release such a product because theyre both in the music industry. I think I would find it hard to be attracted to a product endorsed or developed by a celebrity whose career is in a completely different field ie Katie Price and iPod fashion :\/","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"27426707","body":"I agree with you Amanda. If a celebrity has credibility in the field of the item that they are promoting, I support the notion for them to have a range. However, in my view, Katie Price has no connection with the iPod as her contribution to the music world is minimal and, for many, unfavoured due to her lack of musical talent. Having said that, we are in a Capitalist, money-driven society and Katie Price is a money-makers dream due to her popularity and fame. I won't be buying into her range but I'm sure many Tweens will be!","dateCreated":"1285210835","smartDate":"Sep 22, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"sophiegreenly","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/sophiegreenly","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"27434369","body":"Katie Price is such a strange form of celebrity. She started out as a 'glamour model' - which in Australian terms means she essentially did semi-pornographic modeling for British Tabloids. This form of 'modeling' has launched hundreds of careers and none more famous than dear Katie Price.
\n
\nIt makes you wonder why iPod would choose to be associated with this kind of celebrity? I wonder if it is a case where any press is good press, or if Katie is helping Apple tap into a market they originally could not reach?
\n
\nEither way, I have to agree with Sophie and Amanda. For whatever reason people are consuming this brand of Ipod, its not because of her music career.

Sounds harsh but I would not want Price as the face of my brand or associated with it at all. Concerning any celebrity link with any brand, you always see them when you see the product. You just wouldn't expect that from the Apple brand.
\n
\nI would like to know their reasoning. Although after reading this article -http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-1304726\/Katie-Price-dresses-iPod-launch-range-Nanos-earrings.html<\/a>
\n
\nIt got me thinking about how Apple products, in particular the new nano was created to suit the different needs of everyone and anyone. Perhaps encouraging the wildest of celebrities, Price, to put her spin and incorporate her style on the product. For Apple, this would communicate that this product is for anyone and everyone.","dateCreated":"1285246699","smartDate":"Sep 23, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"gmdixon","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/gmdixon","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"27497917","body":"Katie Price is a brilliant at creating herself as a brand. People only knew Jordan as a page three girl in the UK. She was then able to create Katie Price as another brand, a more motherly one dare I say it. Everything she does is a carefully constructed marketing plan, with her empire being worth over $30 million in 2009.
\n
\nAs for the IPod branding she came under fire in this article for selling her 'Personalised' IPods for nearly double the retail value

It is really interesting to know what this jewelery represents (Childhood and Australia). I think that this jewelery is beautiful.

\nI also like how their jewelery is unique and hasn't been made into something that you can get pretty much anywhere, or something that everyone has. There are shops like Lovisa that have nice jewelery however you can end up paying ridiculous prices for things that are not unique like Iggy and Lou Lou.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
