\n
\nHowever one person commented on the article,
\n
\n"Sorry but it is obvious that these portraits have simply been done over photo's. I am sure if you look hard enough you will find photos that match each one of these portraits. My son is studying to be a concept artist and he uses tablets to do his work and believe me you cannot get the results he gets on a Cintiq (Industry standard). he uses two Cintiq's both of which are basically LCD screens you can draw straight on to with a special pen and you need the level of sophistication they offer to even approach what can be done with traditional media. These apps for the various I-devices are basically, amatuer level toys."
\n
\nThis reader perhaps a little disgruntled but has a point. The portraits do look like photos which are just edited...but the video doesn't. New media please stop confusing the technology-illiterate. Does anyone own an iPad or have they ever used this app?

However, I did my research and found out that he actually does it all from scratch. He may have an image by his side that he is referring to (as people do when they are drawing still life) but his work employs his own creative skill. He is an illustration and animation graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University and, therefore, has experience working with artistic technology and software. There may well be people out there that are claiming to produce such images by simply overlaying photos but these videos show, from beginning to end, the production of his work.

It was bound to happen, the upmake of veding machines. I was recently talking to my professor back in the states about outdated technology and how they are improving things like the iPod every 6 months but technology such as vending machines are much out of date. This must cost a shiny penny though. I'm sure it would be the talk of the year if this reached Australia and the states. It's like a shiny new toy to play with.
\n
\nThe marketing aspect is genious though. It gives a whole new meaning to gorilla marketing with features that can detect just by what you look like what kind of product you might like. It's mind-boggling and I would LOVE to get my hands on this invention and talk to the inventors behind this.
\n
\nIt's living proof that you can improve all sorts of technology.

And imagine if this applied to other products that we purchase, E.g. cameras. That would be pretty cool, the machine deciding what camera model would suit you according to your gender and looks. Say if you're a party sort of person the machine might suggest you buying a thin-body light-weighted digitial camera, but if you're an artist it might suggest you with one of those professional cameras with a heavy long focusing ring (I am not sure whether that's what that part is called).","dateCreated":"1285166813","smartDate":"Sep 22, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"josiahwyk","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/josiahwyk","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]},{"id":"25980453","dateCreated":"1280968933","smartDate":"Aug 4, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"abigailbenaud","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/abigailbenaud","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/kcb202kb1to3.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/25980453"},"dateDigested":1532653466,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"iPhone 4 Launch Comment 1","description":"I agree with what has been said about Apple. I would of thought that there would of been more information to those who will be selling the Iphone 4. I think Apple could of gotten a little ahead of itself...as we all are aware the Iphone 4 has problems, the main problem is the reception problem which happens if you hold it in a particular way with one hand you resulting in loss of all reception.
\n
\nMaybe next time they will put a little more into planning and designing the Iphone 4. However despite everything that has been said wrong about the Iphone 4, it has sold out and people lined up for hours. They do get a lot of other things right.

We were saying how much of Apple's success... well the reason I believe they are so successful is their advertising and marketing campaign and their brand image in general. Off the top of my head I couldn't name any other advertising that has stood out for similar products like Apple's have. Another thing we were discussing which is what the previous entries here have been about is how Apple have probably already invented and tested the iPhone 10. Like Abigail mentioned the time between the 3G, 3Gs and then the iPhone 4 was maybe a year or less between. Walking these new improved versions of a phone almost every year you would be pretty accurate in thinking they would already have the next 10 years planned with new products and features.","dateCreated":"1282533586","smartDate":"Aug 22, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"lauronky","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/lauronky","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"26295933","body":"iPhone 10...we probably wouldn't be able to comprehend its abilities.
